Tourism in Tunisia has known a positive development recently, as the number of foreign tourists increased by 24% in 2017, compared to 2016.

The Number of Algerians, who visited Tunisia, this year, has strongly risen, reaching 44 per cent to 1,856,000 persons, according to official figures released on Tuesday

The number of foreign tourists visiting Tunisia increased by 24 percent from January to October 10 this year, according to the figures.

5.55 million Foreign tourists visited Tunisia during this period compared to 4.49 million in the same period in 2016, according to data sent to Reuters.

Moreover, European tourist flows increased 18 per cent to 1,461,000, according to the same figures.

It is expected that the number of foreign tourists will peak at 6.5 million this year, up 30 per cent from 2016, reflecting the improvement in the security situation in the country and the influx of new markets such as those of Algeria and Russia.
