Algeria: Massive fire ravages a camp of sub-Saharan migrants in Batna


A massive fire destroyed a camp of sub-Saharan migrants settled in the southern part of Batna province, on an area of ​​1.500 square meters, the Civil Defense said, on Tuesday afternoon.

The commander of the main unit, Lazhar Derghal, told APS that no human life is to be deplored in the fire of this camp, made of wooden boards and plastics and those houses between 250 and 300 people of various African nationalities, some of them with “light burns”, were treated on site by doctors and civil protection workers.

An investigation was launched by the competent security services to determine the circumstances of the fire.
