The Catalan government’s response to Madrid question will be identical to that made, on Monday, a spokesman for Generalitat said on Tuesday, Reuters reported.
“Giving up is not part of the government’s scenarios,” spokesman Jordi Turull said. “On Thursday we will not say anything different from what was said on Monday.”
On Monday, Madrid considered that the President of Catalonia, Carles Puigdemont, has not replied to the Spanish authorities, on whether he had declared independence of his region, and it gave him until, Thursday, to clarify its position by a “yes” or a “no”.
Carles Puigdemont did not answer directly on this issue, proposing instead a dialogue with Madrid and proposing to meet “as soon as possible” the Spanish government President, Mariano Rajoy.
