A military aircraft crashed, Thursday, in Spain after participating in the parade of the national day in Madrid, a spokesman of the Ministry of Defense told AFP.
“I can confirm that a plane crashed,” said the spokesman without being able to specify if the accident has resulted in victims.
According to Spanish media, the aircraft crashed near the Los Llanos air base, near the city of Albacete, 300 km south-east of the capital.
The Spanish media said it is a Eurofighter, a combat aircraft developed by the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Spain celebrated, Thursday, its national day symbol of the unity of the country, threatened by the crisis, between Catalonia and Madrid, which gave it until October 19 to reverse its declaration of independence, if it wants to avoid the suspension of its autonomy.
Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy and King Felipe VI have attended the traditional military parade in Madrid, to commemorate the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus in 1492.
