The bill on E- commerce has been approved, Wednesday, in the Council of Ministers meeting chaired by President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
This text aims to give a legal basis to this activity which has already appeared in Algeria as well as establish the proper climate of confidence for its extension, specified the communiqué of the Council of Ministers.
It is also about developing the digital economy in the country, offering protection to consumers and codifying the repression of any fraud in this new field.
As a reminder, more than 100,000 transactions have been carried out since the launch of the e-payment in October 2016.
Currently, the electronic payment service is limited to the payment of electricity, gas and water bills as well as certain insurance services including travel insurance.
