Algeria, Jordan ink two cooperation agreements

Algeria an d Jordan signed Thursday in Amman an agreement on the creation of an Algeria-Jordan Business Council an another about cooperation between Algerian and Jordanian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.


These conventions, sanctioned the meeting of the forum of Algerian and Jordanian businessmen, the first of its kind, were signed by the President of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI), Mohamed Laid Benamor and Jordanian Trade Minister, Naïl El-Kabarati, in the presence of Jordan’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Yaroub Qudah, on the sidelines of the Arab-African Economic Forum in Jordan.

The first agreement concerns the creation of an Algerian-Jordanian business council with the aim of “strengthening and expanding economic, commercial, scientific, technical and business relations and contacts between project promoters , entrepreneurs, businessmen, business forums and trade unions, in addition to promoting bilateral cooperation between SMEs in both countries.

Both sides are working to “exchange information of common interest, review laws and ensure the conditions for active participation in international meetings” in addition to cooperation in the fields of international commercial and maritime arbitration.

The Algerian-Jordanian Business Council, composed of 24 members, holds regular annual meetings, knowing that the Convention entered into force on the day of its signature.

The second agreement signed between ICCA and the Jordanian Trade Council aims to seize opportunities to encourage, strengthen and expand economic, commercial, scientific and technological relations, in addition to the exchange of information, common interest in the laws relating to the economy, foreign trade and customs.

It aims to provide assistance to project promoters, entrepreneurs and businessmen in order to participate in specialized international and national meetings and allow exchanges between chambers of commerce of both countries.
