International French Travel Market: Algerian pavilion in Paris draws high interest

Algeria’s pavilion at the 39th IFTM (International French Travel Market) Top Resa, in Paris, drew a large number of visitors on Tuesday, the first day of the travel and tourism trade fair.

ONT General Director Rachid Cheloufi wanted to mark the first day of the show with a communication operation, during which many representatives of travel agencies in France and visitors came to discover  tourism in Algeria.

The DGs of the Algerian hotel groups (Aurassi, El-Djazaïr, Les Andalouses) were also present at the ceremony, as well as the heads of agencies, in order to seize the opportunity of this exhibition for direct contacts to promote the destination Algeria that remains little known by tourists around the world, despite the rich potentialities of the country.

The pavilion decorated with local artisanal products

Semrouni Nesro, the head of the leather goods business, explained his presence by his desire to represent Algeria at this fair, which brings together nearly 31,000 trade visitors and over 1600 brands. With limited means of production, he regretted that young Algerians were not interested in crafts.

During the show, ONT programmed the screening of films and photographs as well as  the distribution of various promotional materials (guides, leaflets, CDs, etc.).
