A plan to promote tourism and traditional crafts in the wilaya of Laghouat has been established by the Ministryof Tourism and Handicraft , pointed out the sector officials.
This plan, which coincides with the opening of the Saharan tourism season, was drawn up with the help of various institutions, including the Forest Conservation, the Directorate of Culture and the Saharan Atlas Cultural Park, said, Harzallah Hachachna, director of the sector.
It is based on several axes, including strengthening collaboration between the various actors concerned, as well as the valorization of all tourist potential (natural, archaeological and other) and the opening of access roads to sites, he added.
Tourism offices and local associations in this field will benefit from a data bank on the tourism capacity of the wilaya, traditional events and popular festivitie.
The Tourism and Crafts Directorate, in coordination with the transport sector, is working to organize training sessions for taxi drivers, while providing them with a layout of tourist sites, as well as structures and existing restaurants through this wilaya, said the director of the sector.
A caravan to sensitize artisans on the regulatory practice of craft trades and the advantages offered by the different employment mechanisms was launched within the framework of the proximity actions of the ministry.
