Mali: At least 3 UN peacekeepers killed, Sunday

At least three UN peacekeepers have been killed, Sunday in Mali, in an attack on the explosive device against their convoy, in the north of the country, indicated the Mission of the United Nations in Mali (Minusma).

Minusma announced in a statement a “first report” of three dead and five seriously wounded in this attack at 07:00 am (GMT time), against “a convoy on the axis Anefis – Gao”.

Bangladeshi army announced in Dhaka that the peacekeepers were from its ranks, reporting a death toll of three persons and four injuries.

Minusma’s second-in-command, Koen Davids, said in the UN statement, condemned the attack, reiterating “the commitment of Minusma to the government of Mali and the signatory movements in their efforts to implement implementation of the Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation in Mali, emerging from the Algiers process.
