The Minister of Industry and Mines, Youcef Yousfi, met on Tuesday in Algiers, the German ambassador, Michel Zenner, to whom he expressed the wish to establish cooperation with German companies in training, the Ministry said in a statement.
While reassuring his interlocutor about the availability of the ministry’s services to accompany German investors in Algeria, Yousfi wished to establish cooperation with German organizations and companies to provide training for ministry, responsible for managing investment files, including those responsible for decentralized services, as well as in the field of geological mapping.
More generally, discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of industry and mining.
The meeting was an opportunity for both sides to welcome the quality of bilateral relations, particularly in the industrial and mining sectors, in the light of the conclusions of the 6th Mixed Economic Commission held in Algiers last February.
The purpose of the joint Algerian-German commission was to promote bilateral economic partnership and cooperation programs for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
On this occasion, German companies expressed interest in several Algerian industrial sectors supporting the economic diversification policy, such as the mechanical industry, automotive subcontracting, chemicals and the pharmaceutical industry.
