Algerian Energy Minister, Mustapha Guitouni, has urged Canada and South Korea to strengthen energy cooperation with Algeria, on the occasion of visits by Canadian and South Korean ambassadors Ms. Isabelle Roy and Park Sang-Jin, on Thursday, in his ministerial department, the Ministry said in a statement.
The Minister and Ambassador of Canada reviewed the quality of the cooperation and partnership relations between both countries in the field of energy, called “old and excellent”, and discussed the prospects of their strengthening.
Guitouni hoped to develop and strengthen cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of hydrocarbons, energy, renewable energies as well as training.
In fact, Ms. Roy, who is paying a farewell visit, expressed interest in working and investing in Algeria, particularly in renewable energy. She also spoke of the possibility of benefiting Algeria from Canadian know-how and expertise in the fields of hydrocarbons and energy.
On the other hand, the talks with the South Korean ambassador focused on the development and strengthening of the cooperation relations between the two countries, which were also described as “excellent”.
On this occasion, the minister invited the South Korean companies to invest more in Algeria and to participate in the tenders of the sector. The ambassador expressed the interest of South Korean companies to activate in Algeria and explore new opportunities for cooperation and investment in the fields of energy and hydrocarbons.
