Tlemcen: Cable car to be operational in five months

The cable car in Tlemcen, which has been shut down since 2015, will be operational again in five months, the remaining duration of the work undertaken by the Algerian-French cable transport company “ETAC”, said Monday the transport director of the province, APS reported.

This work involves the renewal of cables and the replacement of gondolas by other larger ones, said Attar Noureddine, recalling that this means of transport, inaugurated in April 2009, has been stopped since 2015.

This is a “real achievement” for the province of Tlemcen, in view of its socio-economic and tourist importance, because in addition to being a modern means of transport, it is also a mean of tourist transport for the plateau of Lalla Setti which records a large flow of visitors throughout the year.
