The Minister of Justice, Tayeb Louh, announced on Thursday in Oran, the establishment of a Court of Appeal for criminal cases, as from next September, APS reported.
Speaking on the sidelines of a ceremony for the installation of the new Attorney General at Oran Court, the minister said that an appeal court will be established as from next September to allow convicted criminal persons to appeal to be tried again.
Tayeb Louh considered that these measures ara as part of the reforms introduced in the sector of justice.
The minister also announced a series of laws introduced in the framework of the deepening of the reform of the justice sector in Algeria, like the system of judicial mediation.
In this context, he highlighted the achievements made, such as the reduction of the length of pre-trial detention, humanization mechanisms and instruments for the integration and rehabilitation of prisoners.
