An Egyptian court sentenced eight members of the Muslim Brotherhood to death, on Monday, over an attack on a police station in Damanhur, the capital of Beheira province, north Cairo, the state owned news agency MENA reported.
Two other defendants were sentenced to life imprisonment and ten others to 10 years in prison.
The defendants, supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood (considered a terrorist organization by Cairo) were sentenced by Damanhur Criminal Court over being affiliated to a prohibited organization, attacking a police station and having in possession of firearms.
The attack on the police station and another attack on electric towers occurred on April, 5, 2015, according to the prosecution.
