Algerian athlete Abed Saber, the member of Bordj Bou Arreridj, made his ticket to the 3000m final of the World Championships in Athletics under 18 in Nairobi, Kenya.

Saber finished second in 6th place at a time of 8: 49:97, while Ethiopian Selemon Brega came in first at 7: 5573.

Meanwhile Yazid Slim was only at 9th in the first series with a time of 8: 55.09.

The three other Algerians all engaged on the 400m hurdles have been eliminated. In the women’s competition, Loubna Behnadja finished 4th with a time of 1: 01.41, while the male Ayoub Mahrou was at 6th in 54:83 and Yacine Khedim 4th with a time of 54:87.

The 2017 World Under-18 Championship takes place from July 12th to 16th.

Thirteen Algerian athletes are expected to participate: Osama Cherrad, Akram Abed, Saber Abed, Mehdi Abidi, Hamdani Benahmed, Rabie Deliba, Yacine Khedim, Ayoub Mahrou, Mehdi Anis Nait Abdelaziz, Yazid Slim, Mohamed Mehdi Zekraoui, Asma Baya Araibia and Loubna Benhadja.
