Negotiations between the National Passenger Ship Enterprise (ENTMV) and a Chinese company are at an advanced level for acquisition of a new vessel to be commissioned by 2020, said the General Director of the ENTMV, Guerairia Ahcene.
The negotiations are at an advanced stage with the Chinese shipbuilding partner, to acquire a vessel with a capacity of 1,800 passengers and 600 vehicles, said Guerairia to the APS on the sidelines of a visit Carried out by the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Abdelghani Zaalane at the port of Algiers.
“The Chinese delegation will visit Algeria, next week, to make the final touches to the agreement”, he said.
The contract will be inked, next September, after the completion of all aspects related to quality of the realization.
The delivery time of this boat, which will be received in 2020, is 26 months.
The Chinese ship will replace the ferry, Tariq Ibn Ziyad, which will be assigned to the domestic lines after 25 years of service.
