Boxing: AIBA provisionally suspends the Algerian coach “Brahim Bedjaoui”

The International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) has suspended Algerian coach, Brahim Bedjaoui, on an “interim” basis, due to his unacceptable “behavior” at the Islamic Solidarity Games (JSI-2017), which took place at Baku in Azerbaijan from 12 to 22 May.

“Mr. Bedjaoui, we inform you that the Executive Board of AIBA has decided to suspend you temporarily in accordance with the provisions of Article 13.3.3 of the Disciplinary Code, and filed a complaint against you to the Disciplinary Committee, “AIBA said in a letter sent, on Thursday, to the national coach.

“This decision was made following some of your statements to the media, at the Baku-2017 Islamic Solidarity Games, that AIBA considers in violation of its disciplinary code. Therefore, the Association decided to launch disciplinary proceedings”, said AIBA in its correspondence, a copy of which was sent to the President of the Algerian Boxing Federation (FAB), Mohamed Madjid Nahassia.

Nahassia has been withdrawn from his executive board, in May, and suspended by the Ministry of Youth and Sport. The Algerian Boxing Federation is currently managed by the 1st Vice President, Abdeslam Draa.
