Four people have been slaughtered, on Thursday, in northeastern Nigeria, in retaliation for the arrest of the key member of Boko Haram, local sources said on Friday.
Ten members of the Nigerian jihadist group ransacked the village of Hambagba, near Gwoza, on the Cameroon border, kidnapping six people and killing four others. “When they arrived, they asked everyone to come together, but people fled. (…) They managed to kidnap six people, and slaughtered four others, “said Usman Buba, a resident of the village.
The day before, a Boko Haram commander, Adamu Rugurugu, has been arrested in the same locality during an attempted attack by the jihadist group, according to Usman Buba.
“No shot took place”, said the villagers, to avoid attracting the attention of soldiers mobilized not far from the village.
