The National Council for Human Rights calls for more efforts to reduce child abuse

The National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) called Tuesday on institutional and non-institutional actors to work hard for curbing the phenomenon of child abuse by recommending the promotion of gains, especially through a quality education system.

“The National Council for Human Rights is keen to monitor cases of ill-treatment of children authorized in all regions, and calls on institutional and non-institutional actors to redouble efforts to curb this phenomenon,” the council said in a statement released on the eve of International Children’s Day on June 1.

“There is nothing more important than building a world in which all children have the opportunity to realize their full potential and to grow in good health, peace and dignity,” he said.

“In order to eradicate this scourge, the Council recommends a further strengthening of the gains in this field and the adoption of a good educational system and the preservation of the best interests of the child in all circumstances.”

The National Council for Human Rights, which is a new mechanism for the promotion and protection of human rights in Algeria and enshrined in articles 198 and 199 of the Constitutional Review of March 6, 2016, is the first opportunity to renew the commitment to protect the rights of every child in the country. .. ”

The Constitution states in its article 72: “The family, society and the state protect the rights of the child and the State guarantees abandoned or unknown parentage children …”

The National Council for Human Rights stated that Algeria signed this international convention on December 19, 1992, noting that this move (ratified by almost countries) contains a set of basic principles, including in particular non-discrimination and priority given to the best interest of the child and the right to life and survival growth and respect for the child’s opinion.
