Since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadhan, the National Security Services have arrested 95 individuals involved in drug trafficking and other several attacks in the provinces of Algiers and Tebessa, said Tuesday a statement of the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN).

The National security has also managed to seize weapons and more than 900 boxes of medicines, destined for smuggling attempts, the statement added.

“In accordance with the security plan, drawn up for the month of Ramadhan, in the fight against crime in all its forms, the national security services in Algiers and Tebessa provinces have recently carried out raids, which resulted in the arrest of 95 individuals for drug trafficking, smuggling, robbery and assault with armed hands,” the statement revealed.

“These operations resulted in the seizure of 908 drug boxes, 141g of drugs and 07 white weapons used in burglaries and attacks on citizens,” the source added.

As part of the eradication of informal car parks, police units of Algiers raided four car stations that interfered with traffic and arrested four people.

The national security units are deployed throughout the national territory and mobilized to face any attempt likely to undermine the security of citizens and their property, emphasizes the DGSN, recalling the toll free number 15-48 for citizens to report any infraction.
