Algeria: Sports Minister honors Algerian medalists in 2017


The Minister of Youth and Sports, El Hadi Ould Ali, honored Thursday in Dely Brahim (Algiers) the Algerian athletes who won in the international and continental sports events, before handing over the installation orders to the presidents of the national sports federations .

Several athletes representing different disciplines have been honored. These athletes won various medals during the African championships in 2017, as well as during the last Islamic Solidarity Games held in Baku (Azerbaijan).

The medalists also received financial rewards for the results achieved.

In addition, the minister handed over the installations orders to the presidents of the Algerian federations for the Olympic mandate (2017-2020).

“These athletes have represented and honored Algeria in the different sporting events and it is our duty to encourage them that perform the best of what they have” Ould Ali said.

The ceremony was marked by the presence of several sports officials, including the president of the Professional Football League (LFP), Mahfoud Kerbadj, former president of the Algerian Federation of Swimming (FAN) and the Olympic Committee, Mustapha Larfaoui and Members of the FLN team, Mohamed Maouche and Abdelhamid Zouba.
