Vienna Meetings: Boutarfa and his Saudi, Ecuador counterparts support 9 months extension

Energy Minister, Noureddine Boutarfa, held meetings, before the beginning of the 3rd meeting of Joint Monitoring Committee OPEC and non-OPEC in Vienna, with his Saudi counterpart, Khaled El Fatih and Ecuador counterpart, Carlos Peraz, in which they supported a nine months extension, according to the Minister’s official account.

During the meeting, the officials have favored a nine months extension.

Algeria, Iraq, Russia, Qatar  as well as KSA have supported, in an informal meeting, held today in Vienna,  the extending of the output curbs by nine months rather than  six months in order to speed up market rebalancing  whereas some Gulf OPEC members including Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates have asked  for further analysis.
