Summer Season 2017: More than 1600 agents mobilized to secure beaches in Algiers

More than 1600 seasonal agents will be mobilized to ensure the cleanliness and surveillance of the beaches of the capital during the summer season 2017, said, Tuesday, the governor  of Algiers, Abdelkader Zoukh.

“In addition to 800 civil protection officers, 1650 seasonal staff will be mobilized to clean and monitor the beaches of the capital during the summer of 2017,” Zoukh said, overseeing preparations for the 2017 summer season in the beach  of Sidi Fredj in the municipality of Staouéli.

Reiterating that access to the beaches of the capital “will always be free”, the governor of Algiers highlighted that  14 car parks with a capacity of 12,000 vehicles will be provided.

The coordinator of the preparation program for the summer season 2017 at the province  of Algiers, Soualmia Abderrahmane said that swimming is allowed in 65 beaches,  monitored 24 / 24h and 7 / 7d by 465 agents, pointing out, in this regard, that 22 beaches are equipped with night lighting to allow summer visitors to enjoy the beaches at night.

The same official also announced the establishment of 4 playgrounds at the beaches of Sidi Fredj, El Bahdja and El Djamila as well as aquatic games at the Sabelette, Sidi Fredj and El Djamila and 90 showers.
