“According to preliminary figures, 3 million Algerians are expected to visit Tunisia this summer”, said the Director General of Public Security, Rachad Bettaieb, in an interview with the Algerian newspaper, Al Chorouk.
The Tunisian State has made new measures to facilitate the passage of Algerian tourists to the Tunisian territory, through the acceleration of procedures at the border posts, according to the same source.
Bettaieb added that Algeria and Tunisia are working for modernization of the border posts to meet requirements of the summer season.
As for security, he said Algerian and Tunisian security forces, in collaboration with Afripol, are ready for border surveillance and protection, and also ready to block terrorists and smugglers.
It should be noted that in recent years, Tunisia is the preferred tourist destination for Algerians, ahead of Morocco and Turkey.
