Police chiefs of African Union member states hailed, Tuesday in Algiers, the leading role of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika in supporting African causes and his continuous efforts for the restoration of security and stability in the continent, APS reported.
At the closure of the first General Assembly of AFRIPOL, hosted by Algeria for three days, African Chiefs of Police sent a message of gratitude to President Bouteflika, read on their behalf by the Director-General of Mauritanian National Security, Mohamed Ijat, in which they hailed “the pioneering role of the President of the Republic in supporting African causes, anchoring the values of solidarity among African countries, strengthening cooperation between these countries in different areas including security, in addition to supporting all initiatives and approaches to promote such cooperation “.
They also seized the opportunity to pay tribute to “the constant efforts of the President of the Republic and his commendable actions for the restoration of security and stability in Africa as well as his efforts exerted to resolve the crises and disputes that divide certain countries , by peaceful means and dialogue while respecting the sovereignty of each state without interfering in its internal affairs “.
On this occasion, African police directors and inspectors highlighted President Bouteflika’s fight for “the restoration of peace and security in the world and his efforts to eradicate violence and extremism through the protection and promotion of human rights, the establishment of the rule of law and the consecration of the values of reconciliation and the concord for the ties of brotherhood and love throughout the world “.
African leaders congratulated the Head of State on the success of the parliamentary elections, held on 4 May, expressing their pride and gratitude for Algeria’s “great achievements in various fields and the achievements of the country under the leadership of President Bouteflika.
Algeria hosted the first AFRIPOL GA organized by the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) in collaboration with the African Union (AU) Commission for three days, with the participation of African officials from regional and international police agencies.
