In order to cope with the massive computer attack using the ransom software ” Wannacry ”, Microsoft has reactivated an update to help users of certain versions of ” Windows ”.
In a blog published on its website (https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/msrc/2017/05/12/customer-guidance-for-wannacrypt-attacks/), Microsoft recalls that it has already published on March an update to prevent this kind of attack. The flaw had previously been disclosed in pirated documents from the US security agency NSA.
The virus attacks mainly Windows XP version, which is no longer technically supported by Microsoft.
The new Windows 10 operating system (OS) is not targeted by the attack, Microsoft said.
