12 workers killed in railway tunnel blast in China

At least 12 workers were killed and many others injured due to an explosion in a railway tunnel in China’s Guizhou Province, Financial Express reported.

The blast occurred after gas filled the Qishanyan tunnel, which is  under construction, through a coal seam in Dafang County.

A team of 2,000 rescuers and medical workers were mobilized to provide assistance.

The rescue work ended at 4:45 AM today.

The 12 injured were taken to the hospital for treatment.
