Algerian-Mauritanian Business Council: Obstacles hindering transport of Algerian goods discussed

The Algerian businessmen, participating in the exhibition of Algerian products in Nouakchott,  held a coordination meeting, on Monday,  chaired by Algeria’s Ambassador to Mauritania, Noureddine Khandoudi,  to discuss obstacles hindering access to the Algerian product to the Mauritanian market.

This meeting aimed to exchange views before the Algerian-Mauritanian Business Council, scheduled for Wednesday.

The head of the delegation of Algerian businessmen,  participating in this economic event, the first of its kind in Mauritania, Youcef Ghazi, said that the meeting was fruitful and positive and allowed to expose the concerns of businessmen regarding the Mauritanian market  and the obstacles that could affect the promotion of Algerian exports.

Stakeholders focused on the current regulations on taxes and services, stressing the importance of opening the road between the two countries to facilitate the transport of goods and promote trade.

“This meeting is part of the preparations for the Council of Algerian-Mauritanian businessmen,  scheduled, on Wednesday in Nouakchott to define the areas of partnership and cooperation as well as bilateral perspectives,” he added.

For his part, the ambassador of Algeria in Mauritania considered that this meeting had facilitated communication and coordination to  exchange views.
