European Festival returns for a new edition, in which Algiers and Béjaïa are among the participating cities, according to Festival Culturel Européen Algerie Official website.
Activities of the 18th edition of European Cultural Festival will be launched from May 10 to 24, with concerts, lectures and exhibitions on the program.
For the opening, Lemma Becharia and Thérese Henry will perform on Ibn Zeydoun stage on May 10 at 19:00, for a jazz evening for women.
Earlier in the evening, at 18:00, Dutch funk group “Jungle by Night” will perform at Abdelmalek Bouguermouh Theater in Béjaïa.
Two exhibitions, “Swedish Fashion and Design Stories” and “Miguel de Cervantes or the desire to live” will run until May 24 and will have the task of closing the Festival.

The exhibition “Swedish Fashion and Design Stories” gives an overview of the trends of the past 15 years. It will be held at Ibn Zeydoune Hall , from May 10 to 24 from 17:00 to 21:00.

Workshop “Collective design process”, hosted by Swedish collective “Design Lab S” at the “Frantz Fanon” room (Office Riad El Feth), from 10:00 to 19:00.

– Photographic Exhibition “Miguel de Cervantes or the desire to live” by José Manuel Navia at the Zath Filmathèque (Office Riad El Feth), from 10:00 to 18:00.
Pierre-Yves Robert’s lecture” le pouvoir des mots: dépossession et réappropriation” (The power of words: dispossession and reappropriation) at Frantz Fanon hall from 10:00 to 12:00.
May, 17 to 18, 2017:
A writing workshop is offered to people between the ages of 16 and 30, who like to write and who wish to progress in their writing by submitting their texts to the presenter and to the other members of the workshop.
Themes chosen for the two sessions are:
– La Méditerranée, barrière ou berceau (The Mediterranean, barrier or cradle?)
– Le sentiment algérien dans un monde globalisé (The Algerian feeling in a globalized world)
– Qu’est-ce qu’être jeune en Algérie en 2017 ? ( What is it to be young in Algeria in 2017?)
The workshop will be held at the Frantz Fanon Room (OREF) from May, 17 to 18 from 14:00 to 17:00.

‘The Shuluq’ Ensemble will present the show ” L’île mystérieuse ” (The Mysterious Island) with Filippo Luna (narration and staging) and Simone Pulvano (percussion).
The event will be held at 18:00 at Abdelkader Bouguermouh Theater.
