Fatma Zohra Cherfi, secretary general of the Ministry of Energy, received on Wednesday in Algiers, the vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea (DPRK), Sin Hong Chol, according to the statement from the Minisry.
During the meeting, both sides discussed ways and means to strengthen cooperation and partnership relations between both countries in the energy field.
Moreover, Mrs. Cherfi has presented the broad outlines of energy policy based on energy transition and sustainable development.
The structuring projects to be carried out have been highlighted as well as the possible opportunities for cooperation, in particular in renewable energies, the local manufacture of related industrial equipment and the transformation of hydrocarbons and training.
For his part, Chol has stressed on the need to further strengthen relations between both countries, especially in the energy field.
In this regard, he has highlighted opportunities, offered to Algeria in the field of exploration in North Korea and the skills that his country has in the field of hydrocarbon operations.
