Truck assembly plant to be installed in Annaba with capacity uo to 30,000 units per year

A partnership agreement inked, on Thursday in Algiers, between the Algerian group KIV and the Chinese company Foton, specializing in the manufacture of heavy vehicles, to create a factory of assembly and truck manufacturing in Algeria.

The plant will be installed in the province of Annaba, stretching over an area of 160,000 m2.

The project will create 3000 jobs during its first year of production, reaching 10000 jobs in the third year, said the director of the KIV group.

According to the same official, the first phase of production will involve the manufacture of the three best-selling Foton truck models on the local market, namely 2.5 ton, 3.5 t and 6 t trucks with a  production capacity of 5,000 units per year during the first year of operation,  reaching  between 20,000 and 30,000 units per year within five years.
