German police unravel Dortmund team puzzle

German police have arrested a suspect in the attack on the Dortmund football coach, according to federal prosecutor. He was financially motivated and not a “terrorist,” theguardian reported.

“On April 21,  police elite unit ordered the arrest of a 28-year-old German man named Sergei W,” the prosecutor said in a statement, explaining that the suspect was betting on a drop in Dortmund share price, the same source added.

According to local media reports, investigation led to the man on the warning of a bank about the transfer of suspicious money, and the man bought a lottery of 15000 euros related to the club Dortmund.

Moreover, when the man living in the city of Nürnberg wanted to book a room in a hotel, he insisted on taking a specific room, and it turned out that it was looking at the location of the attack, and from there he detonated the IEDs.

Prosecutors say the man was betting on the death of one of the team’s players, but fortunately all the bombs he had were not detonated.
