Eighteen Algerian judokas, including nine women, will compete in the African Judo Championship in Antananarivo, Madagascar, held from April14 to 16, said the Algerian federation FAJ, APS reported.
Algeria will be represented in men’s event by Mohamed Rebahi (-60kg), Houd Zourdani, Ezzine Wael (-66), Oussama Djeddi (-73), Mohamed-Tahar Haddah (-81), Abderahmane Benamadi (-90), Lyes Bouyacoub (-100), Lili Mohamed-El Mehdi and Nadjib Temmar (+100). All of them coached by Yacine Silini.
In women’s events, Algeria will be represented by Imen Rezoug (-48kg), Meriem Moussa, Faiza Aissahine (-52kg), Ratiba Tariket (-57), Amina Belkadi (-63), Imen Agouar, Souad Belakehal (-70), Kaouthar Ouallal (-78) and Sonia Asselah (+78). All of them coached by Mohamed Harat.
In is worth recalling that Algeria won, last year, 18 medals overall (2 gold, 5 silver and 11 bronze), behind Tunisia (5 gold) and Egypt (4 gold).
