5 + 5 Finance Ministers meeting-Malta:  Algerian Finance Minister to take part, Thursday

Finance Minister Hadji Babaammi will take part on Thursday in Malta at the Finance Ministers’ Meeting of the 5 + 5 Mediterranean Dialogue Forum, which will discuss ways to strengthen investment and financing in the region, according to the ministry’s statement.

Babaammi will co-chair this meeting with his French counterpart, Mr Michel Sapin, added the statement.

The meeting will bring together finance ministers from the Northern Mediterranean countries of Italy, Malta, France, Portugal and Spain, as well as those from the Arab Maghreb Union (Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania and Tunisia).

“The 5 + 5 Finance Ministers will discuss ways to revitalize the economies of the region by creating conditions for a conducive environment for investment such as political stability, development of quality infrastructure and access to Financing,” the source said.

International development banks such as the World Bank (WB), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will also take part in the meeting.

The participation of these activating donors in the region will make it possible to discuss ways in which they can provide funding and technical assistance to the private sector in the region.
