A car ferry with a capacity of 1800 passengers and 600 vehicles will be constructed by a Chinese group, which won an international tender launched by the National Company for maritime transport of passengers (Enmtv), according to APS.
This ferry will allow the company modernize its fleet and double its transport capacities to meet the needs of its customers, according to the tender notice published Tuesday.
The contract amounts to USD 175 million with a construction deadline of 26 months.
The Chinese group is made up of two companies, namely Chantier Guangzhou Shipyard International and China Shipbuilding Trading Company.
The Entmv launched in 2016 a program to strengthen its fleet through the purchase of 2 ferries.
