Congolese president pays tribute to memory of National Liberation War martyrs


President of the Republic of Congo, Denis Sassou N’Guesso, paid, on Monday, tribute to the memory of the martyrs of the National Liberation War at the Martyrs’ Memorial in Algiers.

The official was accompanied by Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament) Mohamed-Larbi Ould Khelifa.

In this aspect, the Congolese president laid a wreath at the commemorative stele and stood a minute of silence in the memory of the martyrs of the Algerian Revolution (1954-1962).

It is worth bearing in the mind, President Sassou N’Guesso started Monday a four-day visit to Algeria, at the invitation of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
