Bill on fight against extremism under study

The Minister of Religious Affairs and Waqf, Mohamed Aissa, announced, on Monday in Algiers, the drafting of a bill on the fight against extremism.
Mohamed Aissa told the Algerian Radio Forum that a bill on “the fight against extremism is under study.”

In this aspect, the official highlighted that the Algerian Constitution “guarantees the freedom of worship and the practice of religious rituals but at the same time prohibits the exploitation of religion for other purposes”, stressing that the Algerian society does not want to be involved in the doctrinal wars.

On the other hand, the Minister of Religious Affairs recalled that terrorism “has neither faith nor law. It is the work of a machination that aims to tarnish the image of Islam by all means .
