Iraq:
Iraqi Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi, has announced the launch of the operation to recapture western Mosul from the grip of ISIS, Press TV reported.
"Our forces are beginning the liberation of the citizens from the terror of Daesh," Abadi said in a televised speech on Sunday morning.

– Five people were killed, including three Iraqi soldiers, in two suicide bombings, on Sunday, targeted districts recently retaken from the terrorist group Islamic State in eastern Mosul.
The three soldiers have been killed in the first attack, and the second targeted civilians in the commercial district known as "My Fair Lady," killing two.  

Iran:
Bahman Soleymani, the deputy director of the Exploration Department of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), said that Iran has discovered major reserves of shale oil in the western parts of the country.

Paris:
 Police in France had clashes with demonstrators, participating in an anti-police brutality protests, staged in the capital, Paris.

Turkey:
Turkey has presented the United States its two plans for the operation to “liberate” the northern Syrian city of Raqqah from ISIS.

Congo:
More than two dozen civilians have been killed by militiamen in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s volatile east.

Germany:
Hard-line Dutch politician Geert Wilders has launched his campaign for upcoming parliamentary elections in the Netherlands by scorning the Moroccan community in the country.
