- An eighth member is missing and two were injured in the submachine attack perpetrated in Tizrarane gun, 40 km west of Jijel, in a barracks where soldiers were sleeping.
A search operation was immediately launched with the help of helicopters by the army which killed three terrorists and recovered at least seven automatic weapons, the source said.
Last week, May 6, five soldiers were killed and five wounded in a bomb attack that was perpetrated in the same region against a military convoy.
These attacks, not claimed, are generally attributed to the terrorists who continue to operate in the country. However, they fell with the national reconciliation policy launched by President Abdelaziz Bouteflika six years ago to the attention of all who lay down their arms.
